Government impersonation

Subsidy / PM scheme refund

Messages claim a pending government benefit and ask for e-KYC or a processing transfer.

Warning signs

  1. 01

An SMS says a subsidy, refund, or PM scheme credit is waiting.

  2. 02

The link is not a government domain you already use.

  3. 03

They ask for Aadhaar OTP, PAN, or a small “processing” transfer.

  4. 04

The message creates a same-day deadline.

  5. 05

No such credit appears when you check the official portal or your bank yourself.

A government benefit is not released by paying a fee or sharing an OTP on a link.
