Online Financial Fraud

Demat/Depository Fraud

Someone pushes a fake share account, or your shares are traded or moved without you asking.

How Scam Works?

This chat is made up. It shows how the trick usually sounds. It is not a real message. Do not reply, and do not send money.

  1. Scam message

I have a sure stock tip for today. Open this link and enter the OTP so I can place it in your demat account.

  2. What you might say

I will use my own broker app.

  3. Scam message

Your app will miss the price. The OTP is only to join the call. It expires in one minute.

A real broker does not promise a sure profit. They will not ask for your password or OTP on a call.

  1. 01

    They sound like an expert

The call or app talks about shares, IPOs, or a tip that cannot lose.

  2. 02

    They need your login

The OTP, password, or a screen-share app lets them into the account you already have. Or they open a new one in your name.

  3. 03

    The trades are not yours

Shares move, or money is asked for a fee before you can take anything out.
