How Scam Works?

This chat is made up. It shows how the trick usually sounds. It is not a real message. Do not reply, and do not send money.

Phone call, then no network

Caller saying they are the mobile company

  1. Scam message

Your SIM will be blocked in 30 minutes. Read me the OTP so I can keep your number active.

  2. What you might say

I will go to the official store.

  3. Scam message

The store cannot do this today. Tell me the six digits now.

No bank or phone company will ask you to read an OTP aloud. Your SIM does not need a stranger’s help to stay active.

  1. 01

They get a code or your ID

A call, a fake link, or a shop visit is used to confirm a new SIM or a card payment.

  2. 02

    Your phone goes silent

If the SIM is moved, calls and SMS start going to someone else. Your screen may say no service.

  3. 03

    Money moves

The codes that should protect your card or UPI reach them instead. Call 1930 and your bank from another phone.
