Digital arrest / CBI video call

Someone posing as police or a court demands money on a video call to avoid a fake warrant.

How Scam Works?

This conversation is invented. It shows the pattern so you can recognise it. It is not a real message, and nothing here should be replied to or paid.

  1. Scam message

A warrant is issued in your name. You are under digital arrest. Stay on this call.

  2. What you might say

I will come to the police station.

  3. Scam message

If you disconnect, the warrant is executed. Transfer the amount to the verification account now.

Police and courts do not arrest anyone over a video call, and they do not take fines on UPI.
