Online Financial Fraud

UPI Related Frauds

A UPI request, a QR code, or a screen-share app is used to take money from your account.

Warning signs

  1. They send a “collect” request and say you must approve it to receive money.

  2. A QR code is for a refund, but the phone asks for your PIN.

  3. They tell you to install AnyDesk or a similar app and share the number on the screen.

  4. The UPI name is a person, not the shop or company you think you are paying.

You do not enter your UPI PIN to receive money. A PIN means you are paying.
