Tampering with computer source documents

Records on a computer are changed or deleted by someone who was not allowed to do that.

Warning signs

  1. A bill, marksheet, or record looks different from the copy you saved.

  2. Someone asks you to install a remote app so they can “correct” an official file.

  3. You cannot explain who edited the file, or the edit happened at night when nobody was working.

  4. A link in a mail says you must upload the original document to keep it valid.

Do not upload official records to a link in a surprise email. Check the change with the office that issued the document.
