Online Financial Fraud

E-Wallet Related Fraud

Money leaves PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay, or another wallet after a fake cashback, KYC update, or unknown debit.

Warning signs

  1. A message says your wallet KYC will expire today.

  2. A cashback link asks you to enter your PIN or an OTP.

  3. They want you to install an app so they can see your screen.

  4. You get a debit alert for a payment you did not start.

A wallet does not need your PIN for you to receive money. A PIN means money is going out.
