Impersonation

WhatsApp boss impersonation

A message that looks like it is from your boss asks for an urgent transfer, gift cards, or a one-time password.

Warning signs

  1. 01

The message arrives from a new number and says this is your boss’s personal phone.

  2. 02

The request is urgent, confidential, and must be done before you call the office.

  3. 03

They want a UPI transfer, gift cards, or an OTP, not a normal work task.

  4. 04

The writing does not match how your manager usually messages you.

  5. 05

They get angry if you ask to confirm on the number you already have saved.

A real manager can wait while you confirm the request on the number you already know.
