Work-from-home task scams

Liking videos pays a little at first. The larger balance is not real, and the unlock fee does not release it.

The offer is simple: like videos, rate hotels, or complete booking tasks from home. The first task pays a small amount, sometimes ₹100 to ₹500. That payment is real. It is there so the next request feels safe.

How the balance becomes a demand

  1. A stranger messages you with daily pay and a screenshot of someone else’s earnings.

  2. You finish easy tasks. A small amount reaches your account.

  3. The next task needs you to pay in, to “top up” or to correct a mistake. Their page shows a large balance in your name.

  4. Withdrawal is blocked until you pay a fee. The fee joins the earlier payments. The balance was never in a bank you can withdraw from.

Stop when they ask you to pay in order to get paid. A job that charges you is not paying you. If you already sent the larger amount, do not send another. Save the chat and call 1930.

If money has already left your account, call 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in. This page is awareness information. It does not file a complaint.
